Friday July 3: Scrutineering and sign-on. 5.30pm - 11pm. (bikes must remain on display until 10pm).

Saturday July 4: Junior Hattah Desert Race - 8.30am race start.

Senior Prologue - 12pm. (Pony Express riders will not do prologue).

Sunday July 5: Hattah Desert Race - 9am race start.

Race lengths

Juniors: 65cc, 80-160cc(9-U12), 85cc(9-U12): 7 x 8km laps, or about one hour.

Juniors: 85cc(12-U16), 80-160cc(12-U16), 100-200cc 2-stroke and 200-250cc 4-stroke: 11 x 8km laps, or about 1.5 hours.

Seniors: 8 x 35km laps, or about four hours.

Senior Prologue order

Top 10 finishers from 2008 will go first in their order. After that, riders will start the prologue based on their order of entry, which will be posted on Friday night at the scrutineering and meet-and-greet.

Prologue presentation

An official presentation will be made for the senior prologue on Saturday night at the Sandbar winebar (on the corner of Eighth Street and Langtree Avenue), starting at 7pm.

No camping for 2009

No camping will be allowed at the track this year. There are numerous motels, hotels and caravan parks in Mildura, Irymple and Red Cliffs.

Changes to Pony Express

Pony Express riders will not participate in the senior prologue this year. Starting order for Pony Express riders will be determined by order of entry. This starting order will be given to riders at sign-on.

Prizemoney

Fastest prologue time: $1000.

First outright: $3000.

Second outright: $2000.

Third outright: $1000.

Leader of each lap will receive $100 per lap led.

Senior class prizemoney: 1st: $200, 2nd: 150, 3rd: $100. Pony Express: 1st: 150 per rider (PR), 2nd: $100 PR, 3rd: $50 PR.

Scrutineering

Scrutineering and sign-on will take place in Langtree Avenue, between Seventh and Eighth Streets (same location as last year), on Friday July 3, from 5.30pm - 11pm. All bikes must remain on display between 5.30pm - 10pm and riders must participate in the meet-and-greet with the public. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. The night will include live bands, displays, a massive big-screen tv, alfresco dining and interviews with the top 10 riders from last year's event. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME FOR SIGN-ON AND SCRUTINEERING - NO EXCEPTIONS.
